You are spolied for choice with the wealth of activities and attractions within easy access: many golf courses(including Gleneagles, only 2 miles away); trout and salmon fishing on your doorstep; whisky tasting; walking; culture and history, water sports centres and many other attractions.

Golf
|
Golf has to be one of the main magnets for many people to the area, no matter what your ability or preference. Gleneagles, soon to be the hosts of the Ryder Cup, is only 2 miles away, and is one of the most prestigious courses in the world; Kenmore (9 holes) is arguably one of the most beautiful; St Andrews is only just over an hours drive away; and Muirfield, Carnoustie and Turnberry, all first class championship courses, are easily accessible. Locally there are several excellent courses - Auchterarder, Crieff and White Moss.

Angling
|
Angling: Some of the finest trout lochs and salmon beats in Scotland are only a short drive away from Duchally Lodge. There are a number of schools nearby including casting clinics, clubs and stocked ponds to help you learn and enjoy the sport of angling.

Whisky Tasting
|
Whisky Tasting and Distilleries: No visit to Scotland would be complete without the pleasure of whisky tasting. Duchally is located at the start of the world famous "Whisky Trail" which runs up through the Highlands to Spey-side, past some of the most famous distilleries in the world. The Tullibardine distillery in Blackford is a "must visit", as are "The Famous Grouse" and Aberfeldy Distilleries, both with excellent visitor centres. The nearby Edradour at Pitlochry is one of the smallest and oldest in the country.

Walking
|
Walking: Duchally lies at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands, one of the most beautiful landscapes in Britain. Close by lie the Sma Glen, Glen Quaich and Glen Lyon, three of the most spectacular areas in Perthshire, and great walking country for gentle or strenuous walks. For the more adventurous, Ben Lawyers, Schiehallion and the Tarmachan Ridge are set in the mountains immediately nearby. Or simply take a gentle stroll by Loch Tay, Loch Earn or Loch Katrine. As well as hiking, Perthshire has a magnificent variety of gardens to visit: Drummond Castle with its formal Italian garden; the natural heather collection at Bells Cherrybank in Perth; the woodland and Himalayan gardens at Cluny or the formal gardens at Kinross.

Culture & History
|
Culture & History: Scotland is steeped in history, known the world over, and featured in much of British folklore and literature. There are numerous castles and monuments in the immediate area: Stirling Castle, Glamis Castle (of Macbeth fame) and Blair Castle. Edinburgh and its castle is only an hour away, and the solitude of the island castle on Loch Leven where Mary, Quenn of Scots, was imprisoned is within easy striking distance. A few minutes drive from Duchally you will find the largest Roman Staion in Britain, the Ardoch Camp at Braco. You can also visit the Crannog Centre on Loch Tay and experience life as an ancient loch dweller in their thatched island homes. Perth boasts the oldest museum in Britain as well as the Black Watch Museum with 3 centuries of military history. The battlefields of Killiecrankie, Glencoe and Bannockburn are also nearby.

Water Sports and Boating: Perthshire boasts a huge range of water activities, from jetskis and white water rafting; sailing on Loch Tay to riding the rapids at Grandtully and high action canoeing in rugged canyons.

Other Attractions: There are a huge number of visitor centres nearby, including heather jewellery, crystal, potteries, glasware, knitware, horn carving, jute production to name just a few. There are also wildlife centres such as the deer park at Glengoulandie, birdwatching at the Loch of the Lowes near Dunkeld and the RSPB nature reserve at Vane Farm. You can also search out wildlife yourself by going on a Highland Adventure Safari from Aberfeldy in one of their 4x4s.
