Auchterarder

Distance: approx 3 miles into Auchterarder (each way)

Leave Duchally Country Estate by turning left out of the driveway. Follow this road for approximately 1.5 miles. When reaching a little cottage called Butt End on the right side of the road, enter the dirt track directly opposite.

This leads you through woodland and over the old railway bridge, coming to a drive at the bottom.

If it has been particularly wet, this track does get very muddy. An alternative is to continue along the road until you reach a sharp right hand turn after the old railway station. At this right turn take the drive in front and follow this until you see the A9 underpass on the right.

At the drive, on your left is an underpass for the A9, take this to lead you into Auchterarder High Street.

Alternatively, for a longer walk, where the path finishes there is a dirt path running alongside the A9, By following the dirt path it will lead you to the park at the south end of Auchterarder. Once you reach the park, you can head onto the high street or head long the road across the park towards Gleneagles and back to Duchally (looping back this way does include walking along the road).
